Helen Joy has been doing gaze drawings. This is a technique in which the drawer looks at the subject but not at the paper. Helen says "they are drawings on top of drawings, often reusing sketch book pages . The layers of gaze drawings are then worked into using any medium to hand. They are all instinctive, unplanned and enjoyably chaotic interpretation"
