Highland Art Prize '24
For members only: this is an opportunity to participate in an important competition and maybe win a prize!
The Art Society of Inverness has again been invited to participate in the Highland Art Prize, which this year will take place in Oban in October, in conjunction with the Royal National Mòd. The live exhibition will be held from 11th-19thOctober at the Rockfield Centre in Oban, and we can submit 5 entries from our members.
We are now inviting our members to submit up to two entries per artist for our selection process, and in view of the fact that the committee will be busy with preparations for our own exhibition in the second half of August, the deadline for submissions to our selection process has been fixed at 12th August. Members wishing to participate should send good quality images of their works, by e-mailing them to rjpeckham@hotmail.com before the 12th August, and please remember to include the title and medium.
More information on the event can be found on the official website at: https://highlandartprize.org.uk
The application form for the actual event has been sent out with a bulk e-mail, but there is no need to fill this in unless your work is one of the five selected from ASI. It is however important to note the conditions specified on the form regarding professional framing, delivery to Oban, possible sales, and insurance.
Note also that this year the works should have been completed in the 15 months prior to 15th September 2024. Those members with a selected painting will also need to be responsible for arranging their own transport for their paintings to and from the exhibition.
( For those who have not seen them, the ASI Members entries in 2022 and 2023 can be seen on the web pages under “Archive” )
