Comment from one of the judges, Donnie Munro: "This a work of great symbolism which is deeply evocative in its expression of the narrative. It has strong expressionistic overtones and a sense of other worldliness reminiscent of the works of Joyce Cairns, Victoria Crowe, Steven Campbell and early John Bellany. It is a powerful work of great poetic strength and appeal and is beautifully handled."
