The ASI Annual Exhibition is now underway and is looking fantastic.
Every year the comment is made that the show just gets better and this year is no exception.
Last Monday evening the exhibition was graciously opened by Lady Claire Macdonald and prizes were given to some well deserving artists.
'Untitled 1' by Frances Baxter (oil) won the prize donated by 'The Picture Framer' after being chosen by a guest judge.

'Haughty Henry - Alpaca' by Sandra Dingwall (pastel) was chosen for the Art Society of Inverness President's Prize.

'Damsel' by Gilyan Noble (mixed media) won the ' Art Media Prize of 'Best Use of Materials'.

Finally joint winners won the prize donated by Tore Art Gallery for 'First Time Exhibitors with ASI'. The chance to exhibit a show at Tore Art Gallery went to:
Michael Stuart Green for 'Artist's Holiday' (collage and original digital print) pictured left and Cath Purves for 'Geraniums Under the Vine' (watercolour) pictured right.

The exhibiton will continue until Wednesday 21st July. All the paintings that have so far sold will be replaced from Friday 16th July onwards, so it will be worth going back for another viewing to see the new work. There is such a wide range of styles and media, with subjects ranging from landscapes to flowers to animals, so there is something to suit all tastes.
